Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L

Iceplant is a coastal succulent shrub native to the coast of South Africa, a warm-weather perennials with brightly colored flowers.

Sun-starved plants tend to get leggy with weak growth.

Great for sheltered desert gardens, in rock gardens, on slopes, or as ground cover or edging plants.

    Size and Growth: 3–6 in. tall, 12–24 in. wide

    Flowering and Fragrance: Pink, red, purple, yellow, orange flowers.

    Water and Fertilizer: Once every two weeks; Dry out before winter. Fertilize with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the spring or summer months.

    Grooming: Do not prune ice plants when blooming. Prune after the flowers fade and trim long stems to remove straggly overgrowth.
